Chronic Illness
I understand firsthand how difficult and isolating living with a chronic illness can be.
Family members and friends can’t understand, and doctors often dismiss symptoms when labs are “optimal.” Chronic illness isn’t just about physical symptoms that impact our quality of life,
but also the emotional overwhelm of adjusting to new limitations in invalidating environments.
I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space to help those struggling with chronic illness process these overwhelming emotions and cope with the loss of a pre-diagnosis life in the hopes of gaining a better understanding of a post-diagnosis identity. Together, we explore thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that impact symptom development. With this understanding, we can work towards increasing balance and an improved quality of life.
Common diagnoses/symptoms we explore in therapy:
Autoimmune Diseases
Cancers
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)
Chronic Pain
Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome (CVS)
Diabetes (Type 1 and Type 2)
Digestive Issues (Food Allergies, Food Intolerances)
Ehlers Danlos Syndrome or other Hypermobility (EDS/hEDS)
Endometriosis
Grave’s Disease (Hyperthyroidism)
Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis (Hypothyroidism)
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
Long Covid
Lupus
Lyme Disease
Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS)
